upper level training cycle for artistic jewellry


This training cycle aims to prepare specialist professionals in the design of objects of artistic jewellery, in line with the determining factors that require the manufacture of these items and with sufficient knowledge insofar as subjects relating to markets and companies is concerned.

The training received will be technical-artistic, in the theory as well as in the practice, which will make possible the utilization of the means necessary for developing creative activity and performing in the business and labour field, as well as carrying out market studies required for the products .

GOALS

  • Draw up design projects for elements or pieces of jewellery, both of one's own conception as well as the interpretation of someone else's concepts.

  • Evaluate material, technical, economic and organizational aspects of the different jobs.

  • Orient plans for the manufacture of new products, proposing new ideas in the methods of working.

  • Study the introduction of new materials in the construction of objects. estimates, evaluating costs of manufacture, labour, materials and profit margins.

    ACADEMIC STRUCTURE

    Currículo Artistic Jewellry

    Studies are organized into two academic years in which the following subjects are undertaken:

  • History of the working of precious metals, jewellery, and costume jewellery.
  • Artistic Drawing and Colour.
  • Modelling and Model Making.
  • Technical Drawing.
  • Computer Assisted Design.
  • Materials and Technology.
  • Jewellery Design Projects and Shop.
  • Job Training and Orientation..

    The total number of class hours the student is required to realize is 1.675 hours, plus 50 hours of practical on-the-job training .

    Upon termination of these studies, the student is required to do a 150 hour Final Course Project (FCP).


    DEGREE

    Upon completing the Upper Level Training Cycle, with a positive evaluation of the Final Course Project, the student will be granted the Degree of Higher Technician of Plastic Arts and Design in Artistic Jewellery.

    These studies are described in Royal Decree 1574/1996 of 28 June BOE number 221 of Thursday 12 September 1996.
