<\/a><\/p>\nAlessandra Vaccari viene de los estudios de historia del arte y es profesora adjunta en la Universidad Iuav de Venecia, Italia, donde ense\u00f1a historia de la moda del siglo XX y contempor\u00e1nea e historia y teor\u00eda de la moda. Sus intereses de investigaci\u00f3n incluyen la moda en sus relaciones con el tiempo; historia de la moda italiana; el futuro de la moda en la promoci\u00f3n del cambio ambiental y social. Desde 2019, lidera el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n Iuav “Fashion Futuring”. Sobre la moda y el tiempo, ha coeditado, con la profesora Caroline Evans, la antolog\u00eda “Time in Fashion” (Bloomsbury, 2020); sobre moda y transformaci\u00f3n en Italia ha publicado recientemente “Indossare la trasformazione. Moda y modernismo en Italia” (Marsilio 2022).<\/p>\n
\u201cFuturing\u201d stems from the work of the design theorist Tony Fry, who has argued for the need of re-directing the current design\u2019s aims and scopes to better respond to a world that has become unsustainable. Futuring, which has been recently adapted to fashion studies by Australian scholar Alice Payne (2019), is an innovative concept featuring in the 21st-century debate on the need to give new directions to the key themes of ecology, sustainability, and ethics. It also draws on design speculative methods; historical and theoretical approaches devoted to sustainability; uchronic temporalities and alternate history.<\/p>\n
