Master’s Degree in Sustainable Interior Design

The Master’s Degree in Sustainable Interior Design offers a comprehensive education that integrates theory, methodology and professional practice, preparing students to develop innovative, functional and sustainable projects. Its modular structure ranges from the conceptual foundations to the execution and communication of projects.

In Module I, the methodological and theoretical bases needed to analyse spaces, activities and aesthetic criteria from a sustainable perspective are established. Module II focuses on professional practice, addressing topics such as energy efficiency, environmental comfort and the use of new materials and technologies. Finally, Module III is dedicated to the development of comprehensive projects and effective communication, essential tools in the business and creative fields.

To access official master’s degree programmes, applicants must hold an official Higher Diploma in Artistic Studies, an official Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area that, in the issuing country, grants access to master’s studies. Graduates from education systems outside the European Higher Education Area may also gain access without needing to have their qualifications officially recognised (homologación), subject to verification by the competent educational authority that those qualifications certify an equivalent level of training. Access by this route shall not, under any circumstances, imply the official recognition (homologación) of the applicant’s previous qualification, nor its recognition for any purpose other than that of undertaking the master’s artistic studies.

External internships are a training activity carried out by students and supervised by a tutor from the company or institution where they take place and by an academic tutor from the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de València. Their main aim is to allow students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired during their academic training while, at the same time, developing the competences that prepare them for professional activity, facilitate their employment and foster their entrepreneurial capacity.

There are two types of internships: curricular and extracurricular. Curricular internships are academic activities integrated into the Master’s curriculum, corresponding to a compulsory subject of 10 ECTS credits. Extracurricular internships, on the other hand, are those that students may undertake voluntarily during their training period and which, although having the same aims as curricular internships, are not part of the curriculum.
